At first, it looked like a sport for non-athletes. It was the freaks and rad cool women doing sports, not ‘typical jocks.’ I was not an athlete before roller derby. I saw the Rollergirls A&E show and thought, wow, maybe I could do this too! I need to do this!
(I found out later it is a sport for athletes, and that makes it even more awesome!)
